Its style, charm and character is what give French Twist at the Barracks in Paddington, its individuality. The large door invites you in to an enchanting cafe with artifacts such as saddles and guns from the olden days, displayed on the wall. There are hat boxes and old chests for coffee tables. The tables and chairs themselves are charming, especially the comfy lounge chairs carefully placed so the Spring sun can shine through olden style windows to give warmth and ambience. It's glass cabinets are filled with delicate delights, each one it seems, made with love. I chose the Turquoise Hazelnut which was a square piece of layered sponge, light and tasty and oh so special.
The coffee was yummy, although a little weak for this coffee addict, so next time I know to order a long black. If you are looking for value for money, this probably is not the place, as the treats are bite sized for approximately $4 a serve. However, if you are looking for somewhere special to go with the girls or your mum or grandma, I highly recommend French Twist for the unique experience that you won't find at any block stock coffee shop.
