A Simple, Delicious and Nutritious Vegetarian Soup

1/2 cup lentils preferably brown but red is fine also
1/2 cup yellow split peas
2 Washed Potatoes diced
1.5 tablespoons Olive Oil
3 Mushrooms sliced
1 Green Chilli de-seeded and diced
1 Brown Onion diced
2 Carrots chopped
3 cups Water
1 cup Vege Stock
1/2 teaspoon Cumin
Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Bay Leaf
Handful of chopped Coriander

Prepare all ingredients. Gently fry garlic and onion until soft then simply put everything into slow cooker for 3 hours on high or 6 hours on slow.

Taste along the way and add pepper if needed.

Ladle into bowls and enjoy the warmth and scrummy taste of good ol' fashioned home cooking with a glass of Shiraz and warm wholemeal bread and butter. Mmmmmm.......
